BEV Platforms

Modularer E-Antriebsbaukasten (MEB)

The ideal platform for high‑volumes production as it forms the basis for all pure‑battery vehicles within the Volkswagen brand. As a purely electric platform, built around the battery, the MEB offers several advantages if compared to ICE based or multi‑powertrain platforms: flexibily and scalability, comfort and space, sportiness & dynamism, reliability & safety.

Premium Platform Electric (PPE)

To support premium and luxury segment customers for high volumes with a class leading know‑how capable of providing latest technologies in an innovative high performance physical and electrical architecture. It features a high‑tech and highly scalable architecture enabling both low- and high‑floor vehicles and high-end features such as air‑suspension, all wheel steering and electric charging power up to 270 kW.

ICE Platforms

Modularer Längsbaukasten (MQB) and Modularer Querbaukasten (MLB)

With these ICE platforms, Volkswagen has redefined industry benchmarks in terms of modularization and standardization. For almost ten years, the two platforms have underpinned the Volkswagen Group portfolio.

Electric Motors

Volkswagen Platform Business offers several high-performance electric motors. Consultancy, flexibility and high tech skills in development are the added values Italdesign can apply to customers projects. Several high-performance electric motors as featured in VW ID Models are available for our customers.

Transmissions

Transmissions are among the most important and technically complex parts in modern vehicles. A broad portfolio of automatic, dual-clutch („DSG“) and classic manual solutions from in-house production are offered.

Axles

Axles are essential components literally carrying the vehicle, its driving performance and durability. Besides the MEB axle assemblies, Volkswagen also offers a broad range of conventional ICE vehicle axles and suspension components, all guaranteeing optimized steering and handling conditions.

Finding the right seat has always been a central question in the development of a vehicle. Thanks to the partnership with Volkswagen Platform Business, Italdesign can offer a variety of structures for driver and passenger seats, as well as entire second and third seating rows.
