E-Traction BMS E/E SW Functions Development Engineer

Italdesign Deutschland GmbH is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Battery Management System (BMS) Software Functions Development Engineer who will be employed in the EE E-Traction Team based in Ingolstadt / Gaimersheim. S/He will be responsible for the HV Batteries SystemSoftware integration, application and calibration at Project Level.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the development of HV Batteries System BMS Software at Project Level;
  • Steering BMS Software suppliers;
  • Updating BMS functional specifications and requirements;
  • Coordinating BMS software functional contents with HV Battery development team;
  • Managing the BMS software release processes according to the Project milestones;
  • Manage BMS software modifications needed to improve the performances, to account for new regulations or to adapt to other boundary conditions;
  • BMS data management according to project needs and project progress, including data structure maintenance in coordination with overall HV Battery development;
  • Ensuring BMS release validation process supporting and managing specific software bundle, HiL or vehicle testing activity;
  • BMS software application and calibration activity on Vehicle;
  • Representing the perimeters of responsibility in internal and external meetings;
  • Project scheduling, management and issue tracking;
  • Interfacing with project stakeholders, involved departments and suppliers;
  • Reporting to management levels as well as to customer;
  • Analyzing and evaluating performance to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for changes;
  • Work-team interaction and collaboration with other departments;
  • Achievement of project’s technical objectives relevant to the field of responsibility;
  • Management of "escalation" process related to issues, with a proposed solution



Requirements


  • At least 5 years of experience in Automotive Electric & Electronics SW functions and components development;
  • At least 3 years of the above experience in Battery Management System SW functions components and components bundle;
  • Good knowledge of Automotive OEM processes (i.e. V-model, Release Processes, Fault Correction Processes, Software Change Management, etc.);
  • Knowledge and experience in Function Development and Application;
  • Experience on understanding customer requirements;
  • Take on responsibility, work independently being able to share achievements with the team;
  • Ability to organize/motivate a teamwork depending on needs and contingent situations;
  • Problem solving, ability to synthesize information, priority management, proactivity, flexibility, resilience;
  • Intermediation capacity between her/his own team and the other teams involved;
  • Decision making skills combined with an assertive and persuasive leadership style;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks;
  • Ability to anticipate, manage critical situations and provide effective solutions;
  • Negotiation skill.

Preferential requirements

  • Knowledge in vehicle software architecture;
  • HiL testing and validation experience of E/E software;
  • Knowledge in error analysis for the complete vehicle;
  • Functional Safety and Cyber Security knowledge;
  • Knowledge and experience in the ISO26262.
  • Strong experience in supplier steering.
  • Tool knowledge: MathWorks MatLab / Simulink, CAPL and Vector Tools (i.e. CANoe, CANape; CANalyzer), Requirements & SysML Tools (i.e. DOORS, Cameo, etc.), Ticketing Tools (i.e. Jira).

  • Education: Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of written and spoken German and English are required. Knowledge of Italian would be appreciated.
