Italdesign’s small series production specializes in crafting limited runs of high-quality vehicles. With dedicated tools like presses, laser cutting robots, and advanced welding systems, the team can produce up to 10  Bodies in White (BIW) per week. Creativity and cutting-edge technology ensure efficient production, while extensive quality control guarantees top-tier results for each small series project.

Italdesign has a long history of ultra-limited series production, with projects like the BMW M1 or the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign. In 2016, it expanded to offer turnkey services for exclusive vehicles, including design, development, production, and testing. With dedicated teams and advanced technology, we support OEMs in creating special series, ensuring excellence and comprehensive B2C aftersales support. Thanks to additional acquired know-how related to internal production of Carbon Fiber and strong research and development of natural fiber, we are capable to offer a unique product experience and fulfilling expectation of our clients.

Since the 1968 Bizzarrini Manta, Italdesign has built over 200 showcars, pushing the boundaries of design and technology. Showcars serve as “development accelerators” interpreting a brand’s identity and vision. We combine cutting-edge R&D with deep expertise, creating showcars that help launch new brands and explore future mobility solutions, as seen with Pop.Up Next, and more recently Climb-E and Quintessenza.

Equipped with six milling machines and rapid prototyping technology, Italdesign ensures precision in creating both detailed components and complete models. In-house capabilities also include lighting, plexiglass, saddlery, and paintshop departments, allowing to produce demonstrators.

Italdesign develops and assembles precision prototypes and mules for over 120 vehicles annually, ensuring thorough validation of design and engineering parameters. The facility also produces close-to-series dies and jigs, capable of delivering up to 1,000 dies per year, facilitating small-series production with a focus on quality and innovation in body part fabrication.

Italdesign utilizes advanced rapid prototyping methods like FDM technology, to convert CAD data into high-quality structural parts quickly and affordably. The team collaborates closely with designers to enhance feasibility and ensure optimal product quality. This agile approach allows for rapid iterations, leveraging both 3D printing for complex geometries and expert manual finishing, ensuring that the final product meets all project requirements and specifications.

Craftsmanship plays a crucial role in bringing bespoke projects to life; skilled panel beaters and artisans transform raw aluminum or steel into intricate body shapes. This process often requires a hands-on approach, utilizing traditional techniques like hammers and dollies. The result is a one-of-a-kind product, crafted by professionals who possess rare and invaluable skills, ensuring every detail meets Italdesign’s high standards of quality and excellence.
