Italdesign is looking for a charismatic person, a great lover of challenges and innovation, especially in the automotive sector, with excellent management skills and strategic vision, who wants to join the new Italdesign office in the United States with the position of Interiors & Exteriors Engineering Leader, reporting to the Head of Engineering.


Responsibilities

  • Building and managing the technical team in the area of responsibility, assessing its performance and motivating their members to anticipate, manage critical situations and provide effective solutions;
  • Managing workloads and priorities, coordinating daily tasks accordingly with projects goals and company strategy;
  • Interaction with customers, negotiation of projects’ workloads, teams’ structures and deliverables;
  • Management, improvement and execution of technical activities;
  • Giving value to the competences of the employees and promoting development and engagement for the company;
  • Support the Head of Engineering to prepare recommendations for Investments and Headcount to be submitted to Italdesign Management Committee for the field of responsibility;
  • Finding the best trade off in case of conflict between performances/boundary conditions, together with all the involved and relevant business units, thanks an active and responsible role;
  • Ensuring the robustness of the technical solutions adopted in product development process;
  • Driving the growth of the team to a suitable size, in order to be able to cover new additional strategic projects;
  • Managing the relationship between US technical team and other Companies of Italdesign group;
  • Supervision of US technical team activities to meet budget requirements and deadlines;
  • Setting of the strategic targets, supervision and measure of the progresses, making sure they are going in the given direction;
  • Effective monitoring of the economic resources;
  • Support to the Head of Engineering to coordinate, harmonize and approve:

- Personnel evaluation & development plan

- Organization changes

- Project development budget before submitting them for the final approval to the relevant Committees.

Requirements

Key requirements

  • Proven experience in exterior and interior vehicle development processes in the automotive
  • Knowledge and understanding of CAD/CAE systems
  • Ability to set up technical teams with the support of external partners/suppliers
  • Experience in setting up and managing teams
  • Excellent organization abilities to interface and coordinate complex multifunctional teams at multi levels
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations etc.)
  • Strong analysis and analytical ability
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills

Other Informations

Education: Bachelor Degree in Automotive Engineering or relevant field; Master’s degree is a plus

Language skills: Fluent knowledge of English are required (written and spoken). Knowledge of Italian and/or german is a plus

Workplace: Detroit (USA) and availability to travel
