Automotive Business Development Leader (Detroit area)

Italdesign is looking for a charismatic person, a great lover of challenges and innovation, especially in the automotive sector, with excellent management skills and strategic vision, who wants to join the new Italdesign office in the United States with the position of Business Development Leader. The role will directly report to the USA CEO, having a functional report with the USA Business Area Manager based in Italy, and will contribute to increase the relevant business in Design and Engineering Development Services.


Responsibilities


  • Operate to enlarge Client portfolio in USA Market (established OEM, new Comers, and Start-up), also using his/her personal network;
  • Create and maintain solid current Customer relations;
  • Create feasible business opportunities with new potential Customers;
  • Support the Business Development Dept. to create the Area budget and having active part in reaching the relevant turnover targets;
  • Update and personalize dedicated presentations to introduce the Company to each new customer meeting, emphasizing the best contents to offer;
  • Developing the relationship with eventual Business Partners;
  • Prepare regular report and updated communication for the Business Development Director;
  • Guarantee regular payments by the customers in conformity with stipulated ongoing contracts;
  • Support the proper execution (technical and economical goals) of the Projects in collaboration with the Project Manager;
  • Support the information flow between the project and technical departments;
  • Support Marketing Department to create feasible sales and offers strategy;
  • Support Communication Department to communicate the Brand and Company value on social, WEB channels and attend events;
  • Support to in guarantee the achievement of the technical and economic targets of the project;
  • Support to manage the technical and economic risk analysis of the project as well as the opportunity of new activities related to the project itself;
  • Promoting and improve project efficiency, effectiveness reviewing the Italdesign processes and working model;
  • Support to integrate Italdesign at any level of the decisional processes with Customers;
  • Active and responsible role in finding the best trade off in case of conflict between performances/boundary conditions, together with all the involved and relevant Italdesign Units at project level.

Requirements

Key requirements


  • Experience in Customer contact and management, having a proved potential customers contacts portfolio;
  • Experience in customer pitching using new virtual technologies and tools;
  • Experience in defining Business Development actions;
  • Experience in contract negotiation and offers formulation;
  • Expertise in Business opportunity creation;
  • Expertise in support of Project Management (timing, technical and economic targets) one field of activities/project from activity/project start to end;
  • Expertise in automotive development cycle (experience >10 years).


Preferential requirements


  • Ability to manage multi-disciplinary, cross-functional activities (i.e., Styling and Engineering, Engineering and Workshop, etc.) of the projects;
  • Ability to support integration and management into the technical development plan of the project related activities;
  • Experience as Project Manager in automotive engineering, with focus on marketing, product and business management would be appreciated.

Other Informations

Education: Engineering or Economics Degree with a focus on Marketing and Product definition;

Language skills: Fluent knowledge of English is required; Knowledge of Italian is a plus;

Workplace: Oakland County – MI – USA and availability to travel
